The Briscoe Strategy for Stratford

Expertise. Progress. Integrity.

I act as the link between high-level policy and local reality. My career has focused on bridging the gap between federal or provincial legislation and the needs of Stratford residents. I turn complex government mandates into tangible homes and resources for our community, moving vital support to where it is needed most.

With experience at three levels of government, I offer a unique perspective on building our future. Below are the core pillars of my plan to move Stratford forward through strategic cooperation and local action.

Leveraging Partnerships at Every Level

As a professional advocate, I specialize in translating community needs into government action. I have successfully secured funding for supportive housing and influenced legislation by finding common ground between local priorities and provincial goals.
Stratford's challenges—homelessness, addiction, and childcare—require more than just one level of government. I know how to navigate the system to ensure the right people say yes to our city's most critical projects.

Turning Approved Plans into Results

I helped move the Grand Trunk site from planning to funding and successfully advocated for housing legislation that fits our city's scale. Now, we must integrate our existing plans—from transportation to climate action—into one coherent strategy.
I focus on finding efficiencies where multiple goals overlap, making our requests more attractive for government funding. Stratford needs action, not more studies. I will turn our approved visions into measurable, local wins.

Implementing Proven Local Innovations

My proposals are rooted in success. I have already pioneered rent-to-equity trusts and family housing on underutilized lands. I am introducing a new charitable housing model for Stratford that uses proven tax and financing mechanisms to create a stable path to homeownership.
This work is built on four years of earned trust with staff and residents. I understand our budget and ensure every new idea is self-funding, avoiding property tax hikes. By combining my policy expertise with my lived experience as a parent in this community, I am committed to making Stratford affordable for every family.

Impact on Your Local Household

I share your concerns about the cost of living. My platform focuses on two goals: securing external funding and ensuring current spending delivers real results.
From the charitable housing entity to the agri-food incubator, I seek revenue from developers and upper-tier government rather than your tax bill. I will also implement outcome-based accountability for all city partners and contractors to ensure every dollar spent improves our community.
