POLICY FOCUS
Climate-Resilient Infrastructure & Modern Governance
We are committed to securing Stratford’s future through three key initiatives: growing our infrastructure reserve with climate-resilient, tech-enabled investments; building strategic capacity for transit electrification; and fully implementing the Community Climate Action Plan alongside the Corporate Energy and Emissions Plan. By leveraging AI monitoring and modern materials, we ensure every tax dollar builds a sustainable, high-tech legacy for our city.

Key Proposals

Close Stratford's Infrastructure Gap
We must increase reserve contributions to address the documented funding shortfall identified in Stratford's Asset Management Plan. With 48% of roads in poor condition, implementing AI-based road condition monitoring that flags deterioration before it becomes an expensive failure, paired with climate-adjusted paving materials suited to future temperature and precipitation patterns rather than historical averages, and recycled-material repair techniques using reclaimed asphalt and repurposed plastic aggregate will optimize the use of reserves and address growing concerns.

Plan Smart for Transit Electrification
I advocate for building reserve capacity today instead of buying current EV tech that struggles in Canadian winters. We will wait for battery maturity to ensure our investment supports longer ranges and efficient grid upgrades without wasting taxpayer funds.

Turn Climate Plans into Action
I will prioritize the implementation of our 2024 Community Climate Action Plan and Corporate Energy and Emissions Plan. We need funded action, not just studies, to reach our net-zero goals and modernize city buildings, lighting, and water infrastructure.
